Adrian has 20 years' experience, including a wide range of work, both civil and criminal, but he is now concentrating solely on civil work.

CAREER PATH

He joined 13 King’s Bench Walk as a tenant in October 1991. 

He was educated at the Crypt Grammar School, Gloucester and then went to Oxford University where he graduated from Lady Margaret Hall in 1989. He was called to the bar in 1990.  He was in pupillage at 13 King’s Bench Walk from 1990-1991.

 

PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE EXPERIENCE

His professional practice has covered: 

• All aspects of advisory work in personal injury and civil litigation, including advising on liability, quantum, evidence and tactics. 
• Wide experience of all aspects of road traffic accident litigation. 
• All aspects of industrial injury claims
• Experience of occupational illness claims.
• Wide experience of all the different types of slipping and tripping claims.
• Experience of stress at work claims.
• Experience of claims arising from sporting accidents.
• Wide experience of occupier liability claims.
• Experience of foreign accident claims and holiday claims.
• Experience of fatal accident claims. 
• Experience of contractual disputes including building work. 
• Experience in landlord and tenant and property work. 
• Experience in mortgage repossession cases including appearances in the Court of Appeal.   
• Appearances in virtually all interlocutory and final applications and representation at trials in the County Court on both liability and quantum hearings. 
• Experience of all aspects of criminal work, both prosecuting and defending, in the Magistrates Court, Crown Court and Court of Appeal.

 

OTHER ACTIVITIES

Reading, running and playing hockey.

Chairman of Oxford Hawks Hockey Club.

Secretary to the Committee of the Permanent Exhibition of Judicial and Legal Costume in the Royal Courts of Justice.
