CAREER PATH
In January 2003 she joined the chambers of Roger Ellis QC at 13 King’s Bench Walk, having previously been a tenant in the Chambers of Kieran Coonan QC at 6 Pump Court, Temple, London between 1997 and 2003.
During this time she furthered her practice in criminal law and clinical negligence.
In 1997 and whilst a new tenant she undertook a part-time position as a Judicial Assistant in the Court of Appeal.
Between 1996 and 1997 Alice undertook a 12 months pupillage at Kieran Coonan QC’s Chambers at 6 Pump Court.
Alice was a Gray’s Inn Scholar (Gerald Moody) and after taking the Bar Vocational Course was called to the Bar in 1996.
She graduated from the University of Sussex in 1995 where she was the Blackstone Law Prize winner in 1994.
She was a pupil at Didcot Girls School and thereafter at Didcot Sixth Forms between 1984 and 1992.
PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE EXPERIENCE
Alice has specific expertise in criminal law and clinical negligence and her professional practice has covered:
- A wide range of criminal cases acting for both prosecution and defence.
- All aspects of advisory work in clinical negligence litigation, advising on liability, quantum, evidence and tactics. Although she now practises solely criminal law, her previous clinical negligence work means she is experienced in medical matters and in dealing with expert witnesses.
During her pupillage she undertook a wide range of work before concentrating on crime and clinical negligence
