Henry practices exclusively in crime, acting for both the prosecution and defence. His experience ranges from drug conspiracies, serious sexual assaults, to robberies and violent disorder.

CAREER PATH

Henry read medieval and ancient history at Edinburgh University before qualifying for the bar. He joined the chambers of Roger Ellis QC, now Julian Baughan QC, at 13 King’s Bench Walk in September 2006 having previously practiced from Castle Chambers in Harrow on the Hill.

 

PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE EXPERIENCE

Henry has developed a busy practice in the Thames Valley. He has been instructed in cases varying from arson, burglary, conspiracy, and kidnap to wounding with intent, violent disorder, rape and robbery. He also has experience of dealing with historic abuse cases, and appeared in the case of R v Smolinski [2004] 2 Cr. App. R. 661(40).

R v Smolenski 2004 Cr App R 40 - Appeal against conviction - guideline case for delay and abuse of process in cases of historic indecency.

R v Hawkins 2005 EWCA Crim 2842 - Appeal against conviction - use of the internet by a juror.

R v Iqbal 2006 EWCA Crim 1302 - Appeal against conviction - jury directions on the use of the defendant's bad character.

R v Mashoud 2009 1 Crim App R (S) - Appeal against sentence for dealing class A drugs in prison.

R v Malti-Hungwe 2009 EWCA Crim 2386 - Appeal against sentence for arson.

R v Lodge [2010] EWCA Crim 938 - Appeal against sentence breach of trust fraud.
