Specialism in criminal law with wide experience of practice at all levels of criminal work, including: homicide and serious violence, causing death by dangerous driving, drugs offences, including importation, sexual offences including indecent computer images cases, arson, theft and associated offences. Appears before the Crown Court, Courts Martial and Court of Appeal. In addition to domestic criminal law, has a particular knowledge of international criminal law and the law of armed conflict. Wider past experience includes practice in general civil litigation and children law, and Coroners Court practice.

CAREER PATH
Qualified as a solicitor in 1987, and practised in criminal and general litigation in the West Midlands and Warwickshire until transfer to the Bar in 1992.
From 1992 until 2001 practised as a barrister in the Chambers of Rex Tedd QC in Birmingham (7 Fountain Court, Steelhouse Lane Birmingham, which became St Philips Chambers in 1998).
Joined 13 KBW in 2001 and has practised here since then. Practice out of Oxford.
