CAREER PATH
He joined the Chambers of Roger Ellis QC, now Julian Baughan QC at 13 King’s Bench Walk as a tenant in July 2002.
He graduated from Edinburgh University in 1983 and was called to the Bar in 1986. He practised at Goldsmith Building from 1987 until 2002.
PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE EXPERIENCE
His professional practice has covered:
- General Commercial & Contract.
- Employers Liability and Health and Safety at Work.
- Employment.
- Insurance & Reinsurance.
- Matrimonial Finance & Property.
- Personal Injuries.
- Tort.
- All aspects of advisory work in Personal Injury and Civil Litigation, including advising on liability, quantum, evidence and tactics .
- Experience of industrial injury accidents and claims including breaches of statutory regulations and/or allegations of negligence.
- Advice on employment matters and appearances before Employment Tribunals, Employment Appeal Tribunal and Court of Appeal acting for both Claimant and Respondent. Clients include national companies as well as individual applicants. His cases include: transfer of undertakings, equal pay, unfair dismissal and sex and race discrimination.
- Wide experience of drafting pleadings in the above mentioned areas.
- Appearances in virtually all interlocutory and final applications, including discovery, directions hearings, pre-trial reviews and final general review hearings.
- Representation at trials in the County Court and High Court on both liability and quantum hearings.
