CAREER PATH                    

Murray graduated from Corpus Christi College in 2001.  In 2002 he was awarded a BVC Bursary and Duke of Edinburgh Scholarship by the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple.  He was called to the Bar in October 2003, before embarking on a 12 month pupillage at the Chambers of Roger Ellis QC at 13 King’s Bench Walk where be became a tenant in October 2004.

Before joining Chambers he gained experience working in Human Resources and for an Employment Law Centre advising on a range of employment issues including unfair dismissal and discrimination.

 

PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE EXPERIENCE  

His professional practice includes: 

• Advice and representation in employment disputes with expertise in constructive and unfair dismissals (including experience of  TUPE related dismissals, dismissals for whistle blowing and redundancy) and discrimination cases (including discrimination on the grounds of age, disability and part time working);
• Directors’ duties and breach of fiduciary duty;
• Contractual disputes generally;
• Employers’ Liability including Industrial Disease claims (with particular experience in the area of noise-induced deafness and limitation);
• Highway and Occupiers’ Liability;
• All aspects of road traffic litigation including personal injury claims and credit hire;
• Trespass to Goods and Conversion;
• Advice and representation in a range of landlord & tenant disputes in both the county court and Leasehold Valuation Tribunal including service charge disputes and possession orders;
• Liquor Licensing (in both hearings before local authority subcommittees and appeals).
