Peter is a member of the criminal team appearing predominantly in the Crown Court undertaking a wide range of serious crime cases for both the prosecution and defence.

CAREER PATH
In February 2002 he joined the chambers of Julian Baughan QC at 13 King’s Bench Walk, having previously been a tenant in the Chambers of Nicholas Atkinson QC at 2 Harcourt Building, Temple, London between 1995 and 2002.
During this time he furthered his practice in criminal law before extending that practice to Oxford and the Thames Valley area.
Between 1993 and 1994 Peter undertook a 12 months pupillage at the Chambers of Hugh Carlisle QC at 1 Temple Gardens, Temple before taking a third six months pupillage at 2 Harcourt Buildings where he was made a tenant in March 1995.
Peter took a ‘gap’ year between 1991 and 1992 during which he worked for six months in the Crown Prosecution Service policy department before living in Paris and travelling in the Middle East.
Between 1992 and 1993 Peter studied for the Bar Vocational Course and was called to the Bar in 1993.
He graduated from New College, Oxford in 1991.
He was a pupil at the City of London School for Boys between 1980 and 1988 achieving 3 As at A level and 2 S1 levels.
PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE EXPERIENCE
Peter has specific expertise in criminal law and his professional practice has covered:
- A wide range of criminal cases acting both for the prosecution and defence. This has included murder, attempted murder and other serious violent offences; rapes and the full range of other sexual offences, such as child abuse cases and the making/distributing of illegal images of children; drug trafficking; and arson cases involving the endangerment of life.
- Being led for the defence and prosecution in a number of criminal cases including murders, manslaughters, drugs conspiracies, fraud conspiracies (one of which lasted for 6 months), child cruelty and indecent assaults.
- An extensive range of fraud cases (please see attached schedule for details).
- All aspects of advisory work in crime.
