Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs v. Meier & Ors [2009] UKSC 11

The Supreme Court's decision in the case of Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs v. Meier & Ors [2009] UKSC 11 has now been officially reported in the Weekly Law Reports [2009] 1 WLR 2780. The decision restricts the jurisdiction of the court to make possession orders in respect of land which extend beyond the actual extent of a trespass. It also confirms that in such cases injunctive relief may be appropriate, even against 'persons unknown'.
