Anne Dillon

Anne Dillon is an experienced family barrister and mediator with a background of advocacy, problem solving and finding consensus on complex issues in the spheres of public health, environment and health care.  

Prior to her call to the Bar, Anne had a successful career at Board level in policy analysis, strategic planning and communications including Scope, the Coronary Prevention Group, Mercury Communications and the National Farmers Union. Anne worked extensively in Westminster and the European Parliaments. She chaired a series of government funded expert working groups which established nutritional guidelines for older people and older people with dementia in care homes, children under 5 in nursery care, children in care and foster care, and children, young people and adults with learning disabilities. 

Anne specialises in family law, working in the in the High court, county and magistrates courts, she focuses on private law child in particular residence and contact, and on privately funded ancillary relief.  She represents parents and grandparents, in cases involving same gender relationships, allegations of serious sexual or emotional abuse, implacable hostility and mental health issues. She is an accredited ‘all issues’ family mediator and has mediated on ancillary relief and contact including cases where their have been allegations of domestic violence.

Anne is a Trustee of the National Association of Child Contact Centres. She is a member of the Family Mediators Association and of the Family Law Bar Association. A Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, Anne is involved with the Royal Society of Medicine expert witness training courses.

She has an MA Hons from St Andrews University. In 2002 - Graduate Diploma of Law (CPE), University of Westminster (commendation); 2003 - BVC at the College of Law (very competent with commendation in family law). In 2004 she qualified as a Family Mediator with the Mediators’ Association.
